PlainCheck does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data.
PlainCheck contains no network code. It makes no HTTP requests, has no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, and no server component of any kind. This is verifiable: open DevTools, use the extension, and observe that no request is made.
When you click the PlainCheck toolbar icon, it reads the visible text of that one page in order to calculate readability statistics. That text is processed in memory on your own machine and is discarded when you close the popup. It is never written to disk, never sent anywhere, and never shown to anyone but you.
PlainCheck requests no host permissions, so it has no standing access to any website. It can only act on a page after you explicitly click the icon.
One item, locally, using the browser's own extension storage: your Pro licence key, if you enter one, so you do not have to type it again. It never leaves your browser. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
Pro exports a report as a file saved directly to your computer by your browser. It is not uploaded anywhere. Where it goes afterwards is entirely up to you.
If you buy PlainCheck Pro, the payment is processed by Stripe on behalf of Leafwind Studios Ltd. Your card details are handled by Stripe and are never seen by, or sent to, the extension — the extension has no network code and cannot transmit anything. Stripe receives the email address you enter at checkout so it can send your receipt and so we can send your licence key. See Stripe's privacy policy.
PlainCheck is a general-purpose writing tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. Since the extension collects nothing, any change would be to wording rather than to practice.
